Obituary

With much love spread and many memories shared, our beloved Otis accepted his angel’s invitation into the kingdom on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Meritus    Hospital in Hagerstown, Maryland at 3:40pm. As a result, our hearts are less bright, but we know the heavens are filled with extra doses of love, joy, peace and laughter.

Otis Ray Roberts was born January 27, 1944 in Greenville, North Carolina to Jerry Oran Roberts and Sarah Delzora Roberts.

He was educated in the Greenville public school system and he graduated from Bethel Union High School in North Carolina in 1963. After graduating high school, Otis was drafted into the military where he served in the United States Army. He served four years and was honorably discharged as an Army sergeant. Otis then went into the IBM training program and was employed by IBM as a distribution manager for over 30years, JoS. A. Banks as a general manager and S&K Menswear.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed working on cars. Otis loved the outdoors tending to his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry Oran Roberts and Sarah Delzora Foreman Roberts; siblings Allean Roberts Brooks (Napolean), Alice Marie       Roberts, Oran Roberts Jr., Burnice Roberts Spicer, Johnnie Earl Roberts.

Otis’ memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his longtime partner Odette Cameron; his children Tammy Moye (Stearles), Timothy Jerome Smith, Angela Renee Roberts, Nicole Ann Roberts, Karim Williams-Roberts   (Ashley), Sarah Rachel Roberts and Joshua Ray Roberts; his grandchildren Aarika Moye, Stearles Moye II and Sterling Moye; Ebony Smith, Lashonia Smith, Timothy Smith Jr., Brenna Smith, Tabitha Smith, Laniya Smith, Jabari McKoy and Karim Roberts Jr.; his siblings M. Annette Roberts, Edna Roberts Fisher, Doris Mae Roberts and Cynthia Roberts Davis; his aunts Mrs. Margie Foreman English and Mrs. Jessie Mae Foreman White; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A viewing service will be held Friday May 19,2023 from 10:00am until 11:00am followed by a funeral service at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church of Eggerts Crossing 121 Hillcrest Ave. Lawrence Twp., Nj 08648.
