George Hafitz

Dr. George Hafitz Sarasota, FL - Dr. George Hafitz, 95, died , May 4 , 2021.  Dr. Hafitz was born in Brooklyn, raised in Trenton, NJ, and was a former resident of Princeton.  He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann Medical College.  Dr. Hafitz was a general practitioner of medicine with his brother for over 55 years before retiring, and was affiliated with St. Francis Medical Center. He served as a past president of the People of Truth Congregation and Anche Emes.  Dr. Hafitz was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Maxine Handler Hafitz, and his brother Julius.  He is survived by his wife, Nancy Levine; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jered (Rob) Hafitz and Patricia Hafitz of Hamilton, NJ, and Mark Hafitz of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Edith Gordon of Princeton, and five grandchildren; Aaron and wife Hannah, Eli and wife Lindsey , Leah and fiance Bill Demerast,  Madison, and Rylee,  and two great grandsons,  Logan and Luke.  The family has requested a private graveside burial.
