Gail Higgins Tilton Obituary

On July 27, 2022, Gail Higgins Tilton passed away with her loving husband Thomas Decou Tilton, Jr., of 59 years, by her side.

Gail was born on November 24, 1934, in Trenton, NJ. She was a graduate of Mercer Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Pennsylvania with a BSN. She worked as an Industrial Nurse, at FMC in Princeton, NJ, until she decided to focus on her children.

Gail was a loving wife and mother who poured her life into her children. She was a profound and prolific writer, creative, with endless amounts of art & craft projects, loved to cook new recipes with Tom, while always being elegantly dressed.

Gail will be joining her family in heaven, predeceased by her mother and father Dorothy Mae and Lester Weller Higgins, and her sister, Virginia “Ginny” Patane.

Survived by Gail was her daughter, Laura Legendre and husband Tripp, of Lincoln, NH.

Also survived by Gail, her son David, wife Karen and three beautiful grandchildren, Julian, Jordyn and Jianna.

When she made a friend, she made a friend for life. Emmy Bledsoe and Loretta Whiteside were a few of her close friends she stayed in touch with her entire life since nursing school. There are many other friends and neighbors at will miss Gail dearly.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
